PAKISTAN DOBSON No 100
OZONE STATION No 11
QUETTA PAKISTAN

The stratospheric Ozone observation in Pakistan with ‘Dobson Ozone Spectrophotometer’, started in 1954, at Ozone layer monitoring station Quetta located at Geophysical center Pakistan Meteorological Department Quetta.

Dobson Ozone Spectrophotometer are the key instrument of global Ozone observing system and form the Worlds ground based network for monitoring atmospheric Ozone, detecting the variation of stratospheric Ozone, which caused by natural causes and halocarbon pollutants; beside providing quality assured Ozone measurements. These instruments are used as WMO’s standard instrument around the world. Dobson instrument # 100 Pakistan was established as national standard (Pakistan) at Tsukuba second international workshop on Ozone observation and International Inter comparison of Dobson Ozone spectrophotometer in Asia and Pacific Region (IWOAP 2) in 1996. The Pakistan Dobson standard # 100, served as the reference instrument for home Dobson # 43 inter comparison.
